ETIAS for minors and families

Travelling to Europe with children means a separate ETIAS for each member of the family — including babies. The good news is that minors don't pay the fee. Here's how it works for families.

Every traveller needs their own ETIAS

ETIAS is linked to an individual passport, so each family member — adults and children alike, including infants — needs their own approved authorisation. There is no single family ETIAS.

Children travel free of the fee

Applicants under 18 are exempt from the €20 official fee, but the application itself is still required. A parent or guardian completes and submits the application on the child's behalf.

What you'll need for each child

Each child needs a valid passport in their own name. The application asks for the same core details as an adult's, plus, where relevant, information about a parent or legal guardian. Make sure the passport details exactly match the document.

Let HelpMyVisa handle the whole family

We can prepare and submit ETIAS applications for everyone travelling together, checking each one for accuracy before submission. Our €15 service fee applies per traveller; the €20 official fee is waived for under-18s, so children's applications cost just our service fee.
