ETIAS fees and exemptions
The official ETIAS fee set by the EU is €20 per application — but not everyone has to pay it, and the rules around refunds catch many travellers out. Here's exactly who pays, who is exempt, and what you're paying for.
The official €20 fee
Each ETIAS application carries a €20 fee paid to the EU at the time of application. It is charged once per authorisation, not per trip, and the authorisation then covers multiple short stays for up to three years.
Who is exempt from paying
Applicants under 18 or over 70 at the time of application do not pay the €20 fee — but they still need an approved ETIAS to travel. Certain family members of EU citizens exercising free-movement rights are also exempt. Everyone in these groups must still complete and submit an application.
What is and isn't refundable
The EU's €20 fee is non-refundable once an application is submitted — even if the ETIAS is refused. This is why accuracy matters before you submit. HelpMyVisa's service fee, by contrast, is fully refundable any time before we submit your application.
What HelpMyVisa's €35 covers
Our all-inclusive price is €35: the €20 official fee plus a €15 service fee. We complete the official form accurately, keep your own email on file as required, submit on your behalf the moment ETIAS launches, and track the outcome. If you change your mind before we submit, you get a full refund.
